Disability Justice Speaker & Advocate

✦ About Renée ✦

"Before I'm anything else, I'm a human being who has lived through a lot of the things I now help others navigate."

I'm a transformational coach, advocate, consultant, speaker, and community leader with over 20 years of experience in disability advocacy and disability justice work. My work didn't begin with a title or a business — it began with my own life, my own healing, and my deep desire to create the kind of spaces I wish had existed for me growing up.

I was born three months early and diagnosed with cerebral palsy. From a young age, I experienced trauma, instability, foster care, and institutional systems — environments that often made me feel like I had to fight just to be seen as fully human. I know what it feels like to have people make assumptions about you before they ever get to know your heart.

"For a long time, survival became my normal. But somewhere along my journey, I realized I didn't just want to survive anymore — I wanted to heal."

Everything I create is centered around helping people reconnect with themselves. I believe so many of us are carrying stories that were never truly ours — trauma, shame, fear, self-doubt, survival patterns, and beliefs we learned from the world around us. As a certified hypnotherapist and master life coach, I bring tools that go beyond awareness to actual shift — so the work isn't just insight, it's practice.

For more than two decades I've organized alongside disabled people, people of color, and New York State's care communities. My community work didn't happen separately from my coaching — it shaped how I hold space. I created my work — and my community — to feel like a place where people can breathe. Where you do not have to pretend to have it all together. Where healing, growth, vulnerability, authenticity, and empowerment can exist together.

"More than anything, I want people to leave feeling inspired — not because they think I'm extraordinary, but because they begin to realize there is strength, beauty, resilience, and possibility within themselves too."

My life has taught me that even after trauma, hardship, loss, rejection, or systems that try to limit you, you still have the power to grow, heal, redefine yourself, and create a meaningful life.

If you're here reading this, I hope you know this space was created with you in mind. You are welcome here exactly as you are.

About Renée

Transformational coach, disability justice advocate, and lifetime community organizer — based in Buffalo, NY.

Renée was born three months early and diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Her work began with her own lived experience — institutionalization, foster care, and the systems that taught her what it feels like to be unseen — and grew into twenty-plus years of disability justice advocacy and community organizing across New York State.

Today she is a certified hypnotherapist and master life coach who brings lived experience, peer organizing, and a coaching practice together — so the people she works with don't just get insight, they get a guide who has actually walked the road.

My Method

Plain about the work. Intimate by design.

Honest before pretty.

I start with the real — not the version you've practiced in the mirror. Naming what's actually going on is the first move. Once we've said it out loud, the work has somewhere to land.

Small rooms, real stakes.

Coaching works best when it has texture. Whether it's the eight of us in a cohort or you and me in a one-on-one — the work is intimate by design. You're not a number in a program. You're a person in a room.

Tools, not just talk.

I bring coaching, lived experience, and certified hypnotherapy to the table — so the shift you feel isn't just insight, it's practice. You'll leave with something you can actually use on a Tuesday afternoon.
